SUPERIORITAS is an international contemporary art award based in Italy, dedicated to fostering excellence, originality, and conceptual rigor in artistic practice. Open to artists of all nationalities and backgrounds, the Award welcomes a broad spectrum of contemporary approaches, including painting, sculpture, installation, land art, urban art, video, digital and time-based practices, performance, and sound art.
The Award promotes research-driven artistic practices that engage critically with contemporary cultural, social, and theoretical contexts. Submissions are assessed solely on the basis of artistic quality, conceptual coherence, and originality, independent of the artist’s age, nationality, or professional status.
Selection is overseen by an international jury composed of art professionals with recognized curatorial and critical experience. Through a rigorous multi-stage evaluation process, works are first shortlisted based on annual admission scores and subsequently reviewed through independent curatorial assessment to determine finalists and prize recipients. This structure ensures transparency, fairness, and high curatorial standards.
Founded in 2022, SUPERIORITAS has developed as a platform for international artistic dialogue and cultural exchange, bringing together artists from diverse geographical and conceptual backgrounds. The Award supports both emerging and established practices, offering visibility, critical recognition, and opportunities for long-term professional development within an international context.
The final exhibition is conceived as a curated project rather than a simple presentation of works. A team of professional curators develops a coherent conceptual framework for each edition, within which selected works are contextualized and presented. The exhibition is subsequently designed and realized as a three-dimensional interior space by the SUPERIORITAS design team, ensuring a structured spatial narrative and an immersive viewing experience aligned with the Award’s curatorial vision.

The Artists and Their Research
The SUPERIORITAS Award brings together artists from diverse cultural, geographical, and conceptual backgrounds, forming a nuanced cross-section of contemporary artistic practice. The selected works encompass a wide range of approaches, from painting and sculpture to installation, land and urban art, video, digital and time-based media, performance, and sound-based practices.
Each artist develops a distinct visual and conceptual language grounded in sustained research. The works engage with personal inquiry while addressing broader social, cultural, and environmental conditions, reflecting the complex realities of the present. Conceptual precision, material awareness, and critical intention are central to the practices presented.
SUPERIORITAS prioritizes artistic integrity and supports practices that challenge established conventions, expand perceptual frameworks, and propose alternative ways of understanding contemporary experience. Through the convergence of multiple perspectives and methodologies, the Award creates a space in which diversity functions not as a category, but as a catalyst for critical dialogue and meaningful exchange.
